This is the cycling set replica of the classic World Champion 1966 Peugeot, that has played a leading role in so many cycling events. This rainbow race suit was worn by  Tom Simpson who became Britain's first cycling World Champion in 1965.

The 1966 World Road Race Championship was held in Nürburgring, Germany, and featured a challenging course that included several steep climbs.

Simpson took the lead early in the race and managed to hold off the other riders over the course of the grueling 267-kilometer race. He crossed the finish line first, more than three minutes ahead of the second-place rider, Rudi Altig of Germany.

The victory was a major achievement for Simpson and for British cycling, as he became the first British rider to win the World Road Race Championship.
