The team was sponsored by Gelati Sanson, an Italian ice cream manufacturer. The team had several notable successes during its existence, including stage victories in the Giro d’Italia and the Vuelta a España.

The team was also known for its strong performances in Italian races, particularly the Giro di Lombardia.
