The first Italian stage – Catania-Caltagirone – today, marks the beginning of Giro E, the non-competitive ride on Pinarello Nytro e-road bikes, organized by RCS Sport. The event will be presented by Davide Cassani, Italian Road Cycling National Manager.
Starting with todays stage and running for all of the remaining 17 stages of the Giro d’Italia, five teams, each comprising two people, will ride in advance on the very same roads on which the pros will challenge themselves just a few hours later.
The event, that will start every day from the Giro d’Italia opening village (tomorrow at 8:00) to end on the finish line of each stage, will bring VIPs from sport and show business to the roads of the Corsa Rosa. Already confirmed to participate are two former Olympic champions, Rossi and Yuri Chechi and the Spanish writer/athlete/motivator Josef Ajram.
